For the wine class in May, we will start our journey into the southern hemisphere countries with the exploration of Argentina. Many of the grape varietals were imported from Europe to Argentina in the 19th century and some, like Malbec, have done exceptionally well. However, indiginous grapes like Torrontes thrive in the high altitudes and make distinctive whites. We will explore these and other wines during the class.
Future classes in this series will also cover Chile, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. Sign up for this and future wine classes to enhance your wine enjoyment.
Our wine classes are casual and interactive and led by our resident wine & beer expert Cory Lyerly. Cory has over 20 years of experience in the wine business as a buyer, consultant and educator. The classes will be held on the 4th Monday of every month and are limited to 10 participants. The fee is just $10 per person to cover the cost of the wines and pre-payment is required to hold your seat. Each 1.5 to 2 hour tutored class will start at 7pm and focus on a specific wine related theme and will feature five wines, snacks and reading material.
