March Class: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is the world's most widely planted grape varietal and also the world's most recognizable red wine.  While is was long suspected, it wasn't until 1996 that a UC Davis scientist, Carole Meredith, proved that Cabernet Sauvignon was indeed the offspring of the two famous varietals Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc.  Come and explore why Cabernet Sauvignon is the king of grapes and why it makes great, drinkable and age worthy wines.

Wines:

  1. Killibinbin - Langhorne Creek, Australia
  2. Terre Noble - Colchagua Valley, Chile
  3.  Braai - Western Cape, South Africa
  4. Lacroix - Bordeaux, France
  5. Seven Falls - Wahluke Slope, Washington State
  6. Sivas-Sonoma - Sonoma, California

Our classes are casual and interactive and led by our resident wine & beer expert Cory Lyerly.  Cory has over 20 years of experience in the wine business as a buyer, consultant and educator. The classes will be held on the 4th Monday of every month and are limited to 10 participants.  The fee is just $10 per person to cover the cost of the wines and pre-payment is required to hold your seat.  Each 1.5 to 2 hour tutored class will start at 7pm and focus on a specific wine related theme and will feature five wines (six for this class for added value), snacks and reading material.

Sign up via our Online Store, at the shop or give us a call (984) 200-6184 to reserve your spot.
